R&D

In simple terms, powder metallurgy is a technique that involves mixing different types of metal powder, packing them, and heating them to create a product. Porite uses this technology to produce sintered oil-impregnated bearings, sintered machine parts, and other such things. The greatest benefit of this powder metallurgy technique is that it entails no waste of base material and the material instantly takes shape when it is packed into the mold, making production efficient and providing a wide range of design choices in terms of shape. However, the fact that the base materials are metal powder and oil means that it is important to make the right choice for each in order to ensure the desired characteristics are achieved. The key to this lies in the development of technologies such as those for the refinement and blending of base materials, which is why our R&D department uses Porite’s own unique testing devices to work towards ever greater precision, performance, and quality for each of our products to ensure that they meet the needs of our customers both now and into the future.
